Antalya Airport to Alanya transfer
Alanya marks the far end of the Antalya coast, 125 km from the airport, and unlike the resort strips closer in it is a proper town that keeps going through the winter. A rocky promontory above the harbour carries the Seljuk castle and the red tower, Kleopatra beach runs west from the headland, and the Damlataş cave opens at its foot. Behind the seafront the streets climb the slope, full of shops, markets and people who live here all year, a good number of them foreign. The scale is different from Side or Belek: a working city with a long beach attached.
This is the longest of the standard airport runs. The D400 continues east beyond Side and Manavgat, then a newer expressway section shortens the middle of the journey before the road drops back to the coast and runs along the cliffs above the sea. Allow around 105 minutes for the 125 km. In daylight it is a fine drive, the Taurus on one side and the water on the other; after a night flight it is simply a long one, and a short break on the way is normal. Summer weekends slow the stretches through the towns.
