Avsallar to Alanya private transfer

Avsallar sits on a pine headland with İncekum's shallow sandy bay below it, and for a week that is enough. Then somebody wants an evening that is not the hotel: the Seljuk castle on its rock and the cable car that climbs to it, the harbour and the Red Tower, a covered bazaar, shops that are open because the people using them live there. Guests on long stays go for duller reasons — a bank counter, a barber, a supermarket of real size. Either way it is 25 km each way and nothing anyone walks, so the car is arranged before the day starts.

The D400 east, 25 km, about 30 minutes, and the first half is the interesting one. Straight out of Avsallar the road climbs onto the headland above İncekum, curving over a run of small coves with the water a long way down on your right, then drops to sea level at Payallar and runs flat through Konaklı. From there the castle rock stands ahead of you and grows for ten minutes. The time goes in the last two kilometres rather than on the open road: the entrance to Alanya collects the traffic of the whole hotel strip, and an evening arrival meets it head on.

• Half an hour reaches the western edge of Alanya rather than all of it — the town runs on to Mahmutlar, so say whether you want the harbour, the bazaar or a beach.
• The cable car does the climb to the castle for you, so being set down near its lower station is worth more than being driven up.
• Agree the hour for the ride back when you book: after dark there is nothing between Alanya and the headland that can be reached on foot.
• Coming home with bags from the bazaar is normal on this leg, so count them in when you give the number of passengers.
