Alanya to Gazipaşa private transfer

The usual reason is a flight. Gazipaşa's airport sits on a shelf above the sea at the far end of this road, and it is the nearer departure point for anyone staying east of Alanya, which saves the long run back west to Antalya. The other reason is what Gazipaşa itself is: a farming town in a river plain of bananas, avocados and greenhouses, with beaches that stay empty in August because no hotel strip was ever built along them, and the ruins of Selinus on the shore below. It is the coast as it looked before the coast was developed.

Forty kilometres, about 40 minutes, and the character changes halfway. As far as Mahmutlar and Kargıcak it is ordinary coast road with towns on it. After that the plain runs out: the D400 climbs onto the cliffs, and for a long stretch past Demirtaş it runs high above the water in slow curves, rock on one side and the drop on the other, with lay-bys built for the view. Then it comes down into the flat Gazipaşa plain and the last kilometres are level, past fields and the turning that climbs to the airport. The summer delays are in the towns at the start, not on the cliffs.

• Say whether you want the airport or the town: the centre of Gazipaşa lies inland from the airport shelf and the turnings are not the same one.
• The cliff section decides the timing: in fog, heavy rain or darkness it is driven slowly, so an early flight is worth an extra quarter of an hour on top of the forty.
• The beaches east of the town are unserviced and the nearest shop can be a long walk from the sand, so carry water and shade rather than expect to buy them.
• Arrange the return leg when you book the outward one; the Gazipaşa end is farmland and small towns rather than a rank of waiting cars.
