Antalya Airport to Side transfer
Side sits on a small peninsula about 65 km east of Antalya Airport, an ancient harbour town that modern holiday Turkey grew up around. The columns of the Temple of Apollo still stand at the tip of the headland, the Roman theatre marks the entrance to the old quarter, and between them narrow lanes run down to the harbour. East and west of the ruins the coast opens into long stretches of sand lined with all-inclusive hotels. Most visitors come for exactly that combination: the beach by day, a walk among the ruins after dinner. Busy in summer, quiet again by November.
Transfers from the airport follow the D400 coastal highway east, a dual carriageway that runs slightly inland, past Aksu and Serik and the turning for Belek before it reaches the Side junctions. The 65 km leg takes roughly 60 minutes in normal conditions. There are no mountain sections or hairpins on the way, which makes it an easy first hour after a long flight. Summer afternoons add time around Serik and at the exits into Side, where the last approach narrows; on night arrivals the same road is close to empty and the drive runs straight through.
