Kadriye is the village the Belek resorts grew around, and it kept a centre of its own: a mosque, a long shopping street, cafés where the waiters are not in uniform, and the big theme park with its water slides and aquarium on the edge of the settlement. From Side that makes it a family day. Parents with children book this leg in the morning because a theme park is a whole day and a car lets you leave when you like rather than when a coach does. The rest of the traffic is smaller and more particular: a table booked at one of the restaurants on the park road, or a visit to friends staying on the Kadriye side.
The transfer from Side to Kadriye is 50 km and takes about 50 minutes. The car leaves the Side strip by whichever junction serves your hotel, passes the Kumköy turning and settles onto the D400 westbound, then spends most of the journey between plastic tunnels — peppers, aubergines and strawberries under film running to the horizon on both sides. There is little to look at and less to hold you up. The Belek exit signs come up, the road turns south, and within a minute it is in forest. Kadriye is the first place it reaches, well before the beach-front resorts, and it arrives at a roundabout rather than a gate: shops on the corner, the market street one way, the theme park car parks signposted the other.
- A full day at the park means a late, dark return — agree the collection time and the exact gate when you book, because the car parks there are large.
- Kadriye village and the theme park are two different stops on the same road, so name the one you want — the village centre is a good walk from the park gates.
- Two children, a pushchair and a bag of beach things fill a standard car; mention the pushchair in advance.
- There is no shortcut along the beach: the way home is the same highway you came in on, so a late pickup once the park has emptied moves better than one at the end of the afternoon.
