The airport is west, but the hotel sits beside the eastbound, seaward carriageway of a divided highway, so before heading for Manavgat the car may first have to reach a point where it can turn back; in the dark that costs a minute or two, but on a changeover morning, with coaches leaving every hotel along this shore, it can take longer. Then comes the village stretch through Kızılot and Kızılağaç, and after it the crossing of Manavgat, which from mid-morning is the slowest part of the whole run.

Past Manavgat the highway opens out by the Side and Belek turnings, Serik and Aksu, and on a clear road the 91 km fit into the 80 minutes of the arrival. At this distance from the terminal the margin matters more than it does for hotels nearer the airport: start from the drive, add the check-in time your airline asks for, and if the pickup falls between nine and noon in summer, allow a little extra for Manavgat. Settle that hour when you book the arrival rather than at reception on the final evening.

• Write the hotel name and the Alara bridge into the booking note; on a highway lined with hotel gates, a river is the landmark a driver finds without hesitation before dawn.
• A last swim on a late-flight day is easy here, since the beach belongs to the hotel, but the car collects from the main entrance, so keep a dry bag of clothes ready at reception.
• Count the cases again on the last evening and send the number if it has grown; 80 minutes from the terminal, a car that turns out too small cannot be swapped on the spot.
