Leaving Çenger, the first minutes are the quiet ones: the residential lanes are empty early in the morning and the car is back on the D400 almost at once. The part that varies is Manavgat. The highway runs straight through the town, and from mid-morning the lights, buses and delivery vans there can add a noticeable stretch to the 75 minutes. Before breakfast it flows; at midday in July it is the one place the clock moves.
