Antalya Airport → Kaş Transfer

Kaş is a harbour town on a slope, close enough to the Greek island of Meis that you can count the houses on it from the waterfront. Lanes hung with bougainvillea drop towards the quay, a Lycian sarcophagus stands in the middle of a street, and the ancient theatre sits above the sea on the western edge of town. This is a place for diving, sea kayaking and boat trips rather than a sand-and-sunbed resort; swimming happens off platforms and pebble coves. It is a long way out from the airport, and that distance is a large part of why the town never grew into a resort strip.

The D400 runs the whole way, but after Demre it stops being a coastal road: it turns inland and crosses high, thinly settled country in long loops before dropping back to the sea. Allow about 155 minutes for the 190 km, of which the slowest third is the upland crossing. There is no motorway anywhere on this corridor, so the time is set by the shape of the road rather than by traffic, and it barely moves between July and January. In winter cloud can sit on the top of the crossing for days.
