A hotel in the middle of Kemer makes the last morning easy to fill: the beach across the road, a coffee by the marina, one more stroll through the shops. The catch is that all of it is close enough to make you late. Set the pickup by the flight, not by the mood of the day: 55 minutes for the 60 km, extra time if the car will meet Antalya's ring roads between eight and ten in the morning or after four in the afternoon, and then the check-in time your airline asks for.

The car comes to the hotel's street entrance on Şehit Polis Cemal Ilgaz Caddesi, not to the beach side, so wet towels, inflatables and the bag from the last swim have to be back through the underpass and packed before the agreed hour. From the door, town streets lead out to the D400 in a few minutes, the coast highway heads north under the mountains, and the tunnels through the cliffs come up about halfway, as they did on arrival. Beyond them the city starts, and the final stretch to the terminal depends on the hour far more than on the distance.

• An evening flight leaves a long gap after check-out; ask at reception whether the cases can stay with them while you spend the afternoon in town on foot.
