Kemer to Belek private transfer

Golf is the plain reason for this leg. The championship courses are all laid out behind the beach at Belek and there are none on the Kemer coast, so a group staying under the Beydağları crosses the bay for a tee time — some of them several mornings running, some moving into a Belek hotel for the golf half of the holiday. Families make the same crossing for the theme park at Kadriye and for flat sand that is easier underfoot with toddlers than shingle. Add the weddings and events held at the large hotels there, and relatives split between the two ends of the bay.

An early start is normal. Before the day traffic the coast road out of Kemer is empty, the climb and the short tunnels are behind you inside half an hour, and the ring road round Antalya is crossed before it fills. After the airport junction the ground stays flat: Aksu, then the greenhouses and orange groves of the Serik plain, then the turn south off the D400 into the pine belt, where the last minutes go on approach roads and gatehouses rather than on the highway. 75 km, about 65 minutes, and the only real variable is how long the Antalya section takes.

• Four players with their own clubs need a van rather than a saloon, even on a day trip with no suitcases in the car.
• An early tee time means leaving Kemer before it is properly light, and the mountain section is unlit in places — a reason to allow the full 65 minutes rather than shave them.
• The resort belt runs for kilometres between Kadriye and Boğazkent, and the park, the courses and the hotels all have their own entrances, so name the one you want.
• The evening run back is not the same 65 minutes: the city section is slower after working hours and the coast road is driven in the dark.
