Kemer to Antalya private transfer

Kemer is a resort with a marina, not a city, and this transfer exists because of what the resort coast does not have. Antalya holds the archaeological museum, the walled lanes of Kaleiçi and the covered bazaar, the shopping centres out on the ring road, the private clinics and dental surgeries that visitors end up needing, and the intercity bus terminal on the northern edge of town for onward travel to Konya or Cappadocia. Add a passport or bank errand, a day out that is not spent inside a hotel, a football match, and dinner somewhere chosen rather than included.

It is one road the whole way: 45 km, around 45 minutes. Out of Kemer the D400 climbs straight away, passes Göynük and Beldibi and runs on a ledge cut into the Beydağları, through short tunnels driven through the headlands with the sea a long way below. Then the descent, the mountains step back, the plain opens and Konyaaltı's beachfront begins; from there the road climbs off the shore on to the cliff top where the city stands. The last few kilometres are ordinary city driving and they are what varies — the morning peak adds time, rain slows the tunnel bends.

• Antalya is 20 km from end to end: the museum, the malls on the ring road and the bus terminal in the north sit nowhere near each other, so the booking needs the name of the place you are going to, not the name of the city.
• For a clinic or bank appointment, count the morning peak on top of the 45 minutes instead of booking the car to the minute.
• A city day with several stops — the museum, then the old town, then a mall out on the ring road — works better as one car kept for the hours than as two separate transfers, and the figure is agreed before you set off.
• If the point of the day is shopping, say so — bags and boxes need more boot space on the way home than you set off with.
