Kahya Hotel to Antalya Airport: return transfer & taxi

Departure is the simpler half of this trip. From the western side of Alanya the car is back on the avenue within a few hundred metres and pointing out of town, spared the slow crossing of the centre that guests staying in the eastern districts have to sit through. After that it is the coast in reverse, Konaklı, Türkler, Avsallar and Okurcalar, followed by the long stretch inland past Manavgat, Serik and Aksu: 126 km and about 105 minutes when traffic runs normally. On a summer day the lights through Manavgat are where minutes tend to slip.

This is a building on a town street rather than a resort with a drive and a gatehouse, so the car pulls up at the kerb and loading is quick when the cases are already waiting in the lobby. For a flight in the early hours, bring everything down a few minutes before the agreed time and pay any extras the evening before. A last swim off Kleopatra beach is easy to fit in, being so close, but leave time for the walk back, a shower and a change of clothes before the car is due.

• Work back from the departure time: roughly 105 minutes on the road, then the check-in window your airline asks for, and a little extra if the pickup falls in the middle of a summer day.
• When booking the return, write Kahya Hotel, Güzelyalı Caddesi in full, so that no one reads Kahya alone and sends the car to the resort on the coast.
• If the ticket shows GZP rather than AYT, the flight leaves from Gazipaşa-Alanya, east of the town, and needs its own booking in the other direction.
