Departure starts with a small detour. From 507 Sokak the car comes out onto the southbound side of Atatürk Bulvarı, so it first runs a few hundred metres down towards the centre, turns back at the junction where Dörtyol Bulvarı meets the avenue, and only then heads north. From there it is about two kilometres up the boulevard to the D400, and after that the coast road you arrived on, through Göynük, Beldibi and the tunnels.

The whole trip is the same 60 km and about 55 minutes, but the time is not spread evenly: the mountain section flows, while the Konyaaltı boulevard and the ring road at the Antalya end gather rush-hour traffic, and summer Saturdays add the transfer coaches. Tell us your flight time when you book and we fix the pickup from it with the hour of day in mind. The driver comes into 507 Sokak to the door, so there is no need to drag cases out to the avenue.

• On the return booking, write 507. Sokak rather than just Ares: at five in the morning, two hotels of that name a few hundred metres apart, one on the boulevard and one just off it, is an easy mix-up.
• A final swim on the last day is easy to fit in, but the beach is roughly half a kilometre away; allow time to walk back, shower and change before the car arrives.
• Shopping in Kemer adds bags, so give an updated luggage count when you book the return and the right size of vehicle comes.
