The D400 through Konaklı is a divided road, and that shapes the departure. The car comes out along the service road to the highway, can only join the eastbound side here, and drives roughly 2 km towards Alanya to turn round near the Hedef Beach junction before heading west. It adds a few minutes at most, but it is worth knowing when you see the car setting off in what looks like the wrong direction.

After that the run is the arrival in reverse: Avsallar, Okurcalar, Manavgat and the long straight across the Serik plain, 114 km in all and normally about 95 minutes. Mid-morning check-outs fill the coast road with transfer coaches, and Manavgat's junctions slow down in the late afternoon, so an early or late pickup tends to be calmer.

• Ask for pickup at Hedef Resort & Spa by its full name, with 202 Sokak No: 2; saying only Hedef risks the car turning into the lane for the sister hotel.
• With small children, mention car seats and how many when you arrange the departure, so the right seats are already fitted when the car arrives.
• If your flight is late in the day, agree a storage spot for luggage with reception; the car arrives at the time fixed at booking regardless.
