Antalya Airport to Kestel transfer
Nothing marks the line between Alanya and Kestel; the buildings simply continue east along the shore and get newer as they go. This is residential Alanya rather than resort Alanya: blocks with their balconies turned to the sea, a beach that belongs to the people living above it rather than to a hotel, and shops stocked for households instead of holidays. A good share of the people booking an airport transfer from Antalya to Kestel, 135 km along the coast, are coming back to a flat of their own for a season. Behind the town, the Dim valley and its cave make the standard half-day trip.
135 km, about 110 minutes. The D400 does most of it, and the interesting part is not the middle but the end. Past the hotels on the western side of Alanya the road drops into the town itself, runs under the castle rock and along the harbour side, and only then climbs out eastwards. On an August evening those one or two urban kilometres can cost as much time as twenty kilometres of open highway. After midnight, when most charter flights land, the whole thing runs through and 110 minutes is generous.
