With the building on the inland side of the D400, the westbound carriageway towards Antalya is the near one, so on the way out the car simply pulls out of the entrance and joins the traffic heading west. The first half hour is the most winding part of the 111 km: Türkler, Avsallar and İncekum, where the highway follows the folds of the coast and slows for junctions and hotel entrances. Once past Manavgat the road straightens across the plain past Serik and Aksu, and the 95 minutes quoted for the whole journey are a sound basis for planning.

Evening flights are where the timing needs most care. If you check out at midday and fly at night, a late-afternoon pickup meets the heaviest traffic of the day around Manavgat, when local commuters and returning day-trippers share the road, so leave a margin beyond the usual three hours or so that airlines ask for on international flights in summer. Morning departures are simpler, but the beach across the road still has to be fitted in: a last swim before breakfast, through the underpass and back, leaves time for wet things to be packed separately.
