Utopia Beach Club to Antalya Airport: return transfer & taxi

Going back, there is one oddity to know about. Because the hotel sits on the eastbound side of a divided road, the car cannot simply swing left towards Antalya at the gate; it pulls out to the right, runs a couple of kilometres east to a turning point near the sister hotel, and only then heads west. It costs a few minutes and nothing more, and after that it is the long, straight D400 back past Okurcalar, Manavgat and Serik, a road that is light before sunrise and busiest around Manavgat from late morning onwards.

Allow for the headland too. Rooms on a promontory can be a fair walk from the lobby, and a family with several cases on the last morning is rarely as quick to the door as it plans to be. Settle the pickup time when you book, have the luggage brought down a quarter of an hour early, and let the driver know if the number of travellers or bags has changed since the arrival. The car waits at the main entrance on the D400 side.

• Work the hour out backwards from your flight: about 85 minutes of road, the few extra for the turn-back to the east, and then the check-in time your airline asks for.
• Old paperwork may still show the earlier name; for the departure leg we book it under Utopia Beach Club so there is no doubt at the gate.
• Child seats are fitted before the car leaves for you, so ask for them on the return booking too, not only on the arrival.
