Heading back, the 94 km take about 80 minutes, which makes Okurcalar one of the gentler airport runs on this part of the coast. Work the pickup back from the departure time: the airline's check-in window, the screening at the terminal entrance, the drive itself and a margin that counts most on the busiest summer weekends, when charter changeovers fill the highway and the airport forecourt at the same time. For a flight in the early hours, the hotel's position just off the main road at least means no long climb out of a sleeping village.

Getting out of the estate is the one fiddly step. Its street comes back up to the D400 on the seaward side, and the car has to reach the westbound carriageway, crossing at a junction or coming round at a turning point further along; before dawn that is nothing, on a busy afternoon it can cost a few minutes. After that comes Manavgat, where the road runs through the town, then the open dual carriageway past Serik to the terminal. The car collects you from the main entrance, not from the beach.
