On departure day the whole western half of Alanya lies between the hotel and the open highway. The car climbs back from the boulevard to the main road and then works through the town's junctions until the houses thin out towards Konaklı. At four in the morning that urban part passes in minutes; on a summer afternoon, with buses and delivery vans at every light, it takes noticeably longer. Beyond it the road you arrived on carries you back past Avsallar and Manavgat to the terminal: 128 km, roughly 105 minutes in ordinary traffic.

Pickup is at the boulevard entrance, where the car can pull in to the kerb just long enough to load. Because the sand is at the back of the building, the last morning can be spent on the beach until shortly before the agreed hour, but leave time for rinsing off and closing the cases, since the driver comes at the time fixed at booking rather than when you come up from the water. An early flight from Antalya means a pickup in the middle of the night, so settle the bill the evening before.

• If your ticket names Gazipaşa rather than Antalya, say so when booking: that airport lies east of Alanya, the opposite way from the run described here.
• Write Panorama Hotel, Ahmet Tokuş Bulvarı 30 on the return booking; several hotel entrances stand within a few dozen metres of each other on this stretch, and another driver may collect you.
• If you plan a final swim, keep a dry change of clothes outside the packed cases: the beach is at the back of the building and the car waits at the front.
