Going back is the same 67 km and roughly 60 minutes, but the departure morning begins on a village street rather than at a resort barrier. Guests in one of the annex apartments should be collected at that address, not at the main hotel, unless they would rather carry their cases over; settle which when you book the return so the driver goes to the right door. For an early flight the streets of Çamyuva are dark and quiet, and the car arrives at the time agreed for it.

From the hotel the car retraces Kazım Karabekir Caddesi and Atatürk Caddesi to the D400 and turns north towards Kemer. The Kemer bypass and the tunnels at Göynük and Beldibi move freely in the early hours and slow down later in the morning, when coaches shuttle between the hotels. The part most likely to cost time comes at the end: the seafront through Konyaaltı and Antalya's ring road, which fill with commuters from about eight.

• Staying in an annex, ask reception the evening before how check-out works, since keys and the bill may be handled at the main building rather than where you slept.
• On a late flight a final swim still fits in, provided the cases are packed and closed before you walk down to the sea.
• For an early drive, pick up water and something for the children the evening before instead of hoping to find them on the way out of the village.
