On the way out the order is reversed: the village lanes first, the highway second. The car comes to the hotel entrance on Ağa Ceylan Caddesi, drives back through Çamyuva to the D400 and turns north, past Kiriş and around Kemer. Before dawn the village is silent, and the junction, about a kilometre inland, is only a few minutes away.

The full journey back is the same 67 km, and with clear roads it fits into about 60 minutes. North of Kemer the tunnels and the stretch past Göynük and Beldibi flow at almost any hour; the uncertain part comes at the end, where the Konyaaltı front and Antalya's ring road collect commuters and, on summer weekends, convoys of transfer coaches. So the pickup is fixed at booking from your flight time with a margin for the city, rather than worked out from the distance alone.

• A final swim works if you cross back over the road with time left to shower and change; the car waits at the hotel entrance on the street side, not at the beach.
• Tell us in advance if the party has grown or a pushchair has been added since arrival, because the vehicle is chosen at booking and it is that vehicle which comes to the door.
• If the flight time moves, send the new time to us rather than leaving a note at reception, and the pickup moves with it.
