Leaving, the first thing the car does is cross the Alara bridge westwards, and from there it is a single road all the way: Kızılot, Kızılağaç, then the long built-up passage through Manavgat, which is where the 80 minutes for the 92 km are won or lost. Before seven in the morning the town's traffic lights hold little up; from mid-morning into the evening the D400 through Manavgat carries local traffic and the coaches bound for Side, and a pickup in that window wants a margin. Beyond Manavgat the highway past Serik and Aksu is wide and fast all the way to the airport turn.

In the dark, two entrances belonging to one hotel group a short walk apart are easy to mix up, and so are two sets of guests waiting under the same logo. Nothing on the way back goes through Alanya, which lies 35 km in the other direction, so the only town on the route is Manavgat, and the only question for the clock is the hour you cross it.
