Fame Hotel to Antalya Airport: return transfer & taxi

On the departure morning the car comes in through the same side streets, and a street hotel has no forecourt: the driver pulls up at the door on 111 Sokak if the way is clear, or a few metres along if a van is unloading. Before sunrise the grid is empty and the run out to Atatürk Bulvarı and on to the D400 takes only a few minutes. Later in the morning, with shop deliveries and hotel minibuses doing their rounds, it pays to be in the lobby with the cases a little before the agreed time.

North of Kemer the highway is cut into the slopes above the sea, and the 61 km back to the terminal hold close to 55 minutes at night and in the early morning. On summer afternoons the slow part is the Antalya end, where the D400 turns into a city boulevard through Konyaaltı before the ring road. With an evening flight there is time for a last afternoon by the marina; ask reception the night before whether the bags can wait at the desk after checkout.

• Put 111 Sokak next to the hotel name in the return booking; the seafront Fame Residence is close enough that a mix-up costs real minutes at five in the morning.
• Count back from the flight time: 55 minutes on the road plus the check-in window your airline asks for, and a little extra in July and August.
• If shopping in Kemer's streets has added a bag or two, update the luggage count, because a bigger car has to be assigned before the day.
