Leaving Kiriş, the first minutes are on local streets: back along Kiriş Caddesi to the D400, then north past the Kemer exits, Göynük and Beldibi. Kiriş lies beyond Kemer town, so the highway section before the tunnels is longer than it is for the villages nearer the city. Beyond Beldibi the tunnels lead down to Konyaaltı, and the ring road carries the car round Antalya to the terminal. On a clear road the 67 km take about 60 minutes; the city end is the part most likely to slow on weekday mornings.

Since the hotel stands back from the shore, the car waits at the hotel entrance rather than anywhere near the beach. Several large hotels share these streets, and the sister resort carries almost the same name, so the return booking should give the full name together with the number 92. If you plan a final swim, leave the cases at reception first: the beach is a walk away, and you will want to be back at the front of the hotel before the car pulls in.

• Allow 60 minutes for the road, add your airline's check-in time and keep a margin, since Kiriş lies beyond Kemer town.

• Children's seats are fitted before the car sets out, so request them for the departure leg as well as the arrival.
