Leaving is simpler than arriving. From the entrance the car retraces the inland road west for about a kilometre and then slips straight onto the westbound carriageway of the D400, with no left turn across the traffic and no wait at the Türkler junction. After that the 110 km to Antalya Airport is a single road through Avsallar, Okurcalar, Manavgat and Serik. Before dawn the 95 minutes are realistic; on the busiest changeover days of summer the run through Manavgat gathers coaches heading the same way and deserves a margin.

A brand-new hotel brings one practical risk on the last morning: the building is too recent to be fixed in everyone's memory, and in the dark the Eftalia fronts along this part of Türkler look much alike. The car is booked to Eftalia Sol by name and comes to its entrance on the inland road, not to Eftalia Blue on the highway. If your party is split between Sol and another of the group's hotels, say so when you book; the pickups can be made one after the other, as long as each building is named and not just the brand.

• Work back from the departure time: 95 minutes of road, the airline's check-in window, and a little extra for summer traffic around Manavgat.
• With the beach across the highway, a last swim and the pickup do not mix well; leave a clear half hour between coming back from the sea and the car's arrival.
• Agree to meet the driver inside Sol's own entrance; the group's buildings stand close together, and a guest waiting at the wrong gate loses time on a departure morning.
