Leaving takes a different line from arriving. The car heads north out of the gate through Konaklı's own streets, past the Palm Garden side, reaches the D400 at the lights in the village centre and turns back west there. Then the coast unrolls in reverse: Türkler, Avsallar, İncekum and Okurcalar, the Alara bridge, Kızılot, the busy stretch through Manavgat and finally the plain of Serik and Aksu, 117 km in all and about 100 minutes in ordinary traffic.

At this distance the pickup hour is the decision that matters most. Take the 100 minutes of driving, add the time your airline wants you at the desk, then a margin for Manavgat and for the built-up strips of Avsallar and Konaklı, which slow down on busy summer days when hotel coaches and dolmuş traffic fill the D400. An early flight therefore means a pickup well before dawn, and it is better fixed at booking than negotiated at reception the evening before, when the desk is often handling other departures as well.

• Name Club Dizalya's own reception as the pickup point; a booking that says only Dizalya may send the car to the Palm Garden entrance on the far side.
• At Antalya the bags go through a security scanner at the terminal door before check-in, so allow a few minutes for that queue as well.
• If the flight is brought forward, tell us as soon as the airline tells you; on a 117 km run, half an hour's change in the flight is half an hour's change in the pickup.
