Leaving is simpler than arriving at this address. The car waits at the entrance on the inland side, and because that side of the D400 carries the westbound traffic, it pulls out towards Antalya with a right turn and never has to cut across the lorries heading for Alanya. The first minute of the departure is therefore quick, which matters before dawn, when you would rather be loading cases than watching the road for a gap.

The rest is distance. With 120 km and roughly 100 minutes of driving ahead, the pickup here comes earlier than at the hotels on the western side of Konaklı, by a few minutes rather than a few hundred metres. Count back from the flight with that in mind, add the time the check-in desks want, and agree the hour when you book. The road runs back through Avsallar, Okurcalar and Manavgat before the open stretch past Side towards the terminal.

• The pickup point is the main entrance on the land side of the highway, not a spot across the road by the sea, so there is no need to drag cases through the underpass.
• A last morning on the beach is fine, but leave time to walk back under the road, shower and collect the bags before the agreed hour.
• Settle the bill the evening before a pre-dawn flight, so the departure is just the bags, the door and the car.
