Departure starts on the inland side of Oba, which matters at both ends of the day. Before dawn, when many charter flights home are timed, the streets of Obagöl are empty and the car is back on the D400 within a couple of minutes. From mid-morning onwards the highway through Alanya becomes the slow part, with traffic lights, municipal buses and delivery traffic all the way across town before the coast opens out again near Konaklı. A pickup during the working day should allow for that crossing.

Beyond Konaklı the road is a dual carriageway west past Avsallar, Okurcalar, Manavgat and Serik, and at quiet hours the 131 km to the terminal sit comfortably inside the 110 minutes. Because the sand lies across the coast road, a last swim means walking back through the underpass, showering and packing damp kit, so leave a clear hour between the beach and the pickup. Reception can usually hold cases after check-out when the flight is late in the day; ask the evening before.
