Setting off is almost the arrival in reverse from the very first metre. The lane climbs back past the Mylome to Şarburun Caddesi, and at the same traffic lights the car turns left across the highway, straight onto the westbound carriageway, so there is none of the detour to a turning point that many gates on this divided road impose. After the lights the order of places is simply reversed: the Alara bridge, Kızılot, then Manavgat, where junctions and town traffic do most of the slowing, and on across the plain past Serik and Aksu. The 95 km take about 80 minutes on an ordinary day, and the terminal's queues come on top of that.

This is a family resort, and on the last morning the children shape the timetable more than the road does. Swimwear from a final go on the slides needs a bag of its own, pushchairs have to come down with the cases, and a family is easier to gather in the lobby a few minutes early than beside an open boot. The car comes all the way down the lane to the hotel's entrance, so nobody carries luggage out to the street. Give the children's ages again on the return booking: the seats are fitted before the car leaves for the hotel, and the driver cannot add one at the door.

• Booking paperwork may still show the old name; for the departure, give the current one together with Şarburun Caddesi, so the car is not sent to one of the other Utopia hotels by mistake.
• An evening flight leaves a whole afternoon, and with the aquapark and the pier inside the grounds there is no need to go anywhere; ask reception the day before where the cases can wait once the room is given up.
• When friends staying at the Mylome are on the same flight, one car can call at both gates on the lane; that has to be part of the return booking, because the second stop changes the pickup times.
