On the way back the car starts in the village, not on the highway. It follows Turizm Bulvarı and the Çamyuva streets up to the D400, then turns north past the Kiriş hotels and Kemer, through Göynük and Beldibi and into the tunnels before the long run down into Konyaaltı. Before sunrise the whole coast is clear and the 67 km fit easily into the 60 minutes. In the late morning, when excursion coaches and hotel shuttles are out, the tunnels and the Antalya ring road can add a quarter of an hour.

Since the hotel sits back from the shore, the car collects you at the street entrance on Turizm Bulvarı, so there is no long carry from a beachfront gate. Check out the evening before if the flight is early, settle anything at reception then, and keep passports and boarding passes in a pocket rather than in a case that goes into the boot first. If the group has grown, or someone has bought a large rug or a crate of oranges in Kemer, let us know so the right vehicle is sent.

• Choose the pickup time at booking by counting back from departure: 60 minutes on the road plus the check-in window your airline sets, which on summer international flights is commonly close to three hours.
• Ask for children's seats on the return as well; they are in the car from the moment it leaves for Çamyuva and cannot be added at the door.
• The fare is agreed per vehicle in advance, so a slow tunnel section or a busy ring road affects only the clock.
