Many departures from Avsallar share the road with transfer coaches doing the same run, and on changeover days they collect guests hotel by hotel along this stretch of the D400 from early morning. A private car makes no other stops, which is where much of a coach's time goes, so the 103 km back to the terminal keep close to the 85 minutes of the outward trip. Leaving the service lane, the car first heads east on the hotel's side of the highway and turns back west at the first point that allows it.

The last morning is easily spent on the beach, since the shore is at the bottom of the grounds, but the order of things matters. Pack first, take the cases to reception, then swim; a sandy towel and a damp costume can travel in a carrier bag on top. At the agreed hour the car waits by the main entrance on the service lane, not by the beach, so look for it there. If the party is large or the luggage heavy, say so at booking, because that decides whether a car or a minibus is sent to the gate.

• Put the street number, 12, in the pickup request; the gate of the sister hotel at number 10 is only about a hundred metres back along the same lane.
• On an evening flight, the run west meets Manavgat in its busiest hours, so allow extra time if the pickup falls between late afternoon and early evening.
• Children's seats, extra cases or a pushchair belong on the return booking as well as the arrival one; they decide which vehicle comes to the hotel.
