Leaving starts on the village street. The car pulls out of the gate, runs back north along Atatürk Caddesi to the junction in the middle of Beldibi and only there joins the D400 towards Antalya, so the first few minutes are spent on local road. Before that comes the hotel itself: the grounds are large and wooded, and the walk from your room to the entrance with cases takes longer than it looks. Allow for it, and for the desk, when you set the pickup; a family with a fortnight's luggage needs a good quarter of an hour between the room door and the car.

Northbound, the tunnels and the cliff road keep much the same pace at any hour. What decides a departure is that the airport lies on the far side of the city: every return from Beldibi crosses the whole northern edge of Antalya, some seventeen kilometres of the D400 shared with commuters and delivery traffic, and that stretch fills up in the late afternoon. The full 47 km normally take about 45 minutes; for an evening flight, put the margin on the city section rather than on the mountain road, and set the pickup with that in mind.

• Ask at the desk the evening before whether someone can bring the luggage to the entrance; the walk through the grounds is the part of the morning that tends to run over.
