On the way out the order of villages reverses: the car climbs from the shore lane to the highway, passes the rest of Göynük and then Beldibi, and only after that meets the tunnels and the cliff bends that lead down to Konyaaltı. Departure mornings on this stretch are full of tour-operator coaches doing the rounds of Göynük hotels, stopping at one gate after another; a private car skips all of that and goes straight. Counted from the gate, the 54 km to the terminal take about 50 minutes, with the city part setting the pace once the coast is behind you.
