The return starts with the short run back up Turizm Bulvarı to the D400, then heads north. At 70 km this is a long way out for an airport run, so the pickup hour needs more slack than at the hotels in Kemer town: about 65 minutes of driving, plus check-in, plus whatever the Antalya end adds at busy times. Before sunrise the highway past Kemer and through the cliff tunnels is almost empty; on summer afternoons it is the stretch between Konyaaltı and the ring road that holds the car up.

Turizm Bulvarı is a resort road, shared with other hotels' buses, guests walking to the beach and hired bikes, and on a changeover day several cars may be waiting at gates along it at once. Have the cases down at reception a few minutes early so the driver can load and leave without blocking the road. If your flight is moved, a message with the new time lets the pickup move too; a car that turns up for the old schedule helps nobody.

• Give Turizm Caddesi 8 and the hotel's full current name as the pickup point, so the car stops at this gate and not at the other Akman hotel on the road.
• Child seats are arranged per journey, so ask for them again on the departure booking, not only on the arrival.
• A late-evening flight leaves time for a last afternoon on the beach; ask reception the day before where the luggage can be kept after checkout.
