On the departure morning the car leaves the pines, rejoins the D400 and heads north, passing the rest of Beldibi before the tunnels and the cliff road carry it back to Konyaaltı. That coastal part is quick at first light; the slower part is the crossing of Antalya to the terminal on the far, eastern side of the city, where commuter traffic builds as the morning advances. The 47 km and 45 minutes are what an open road gives, so a family flight in mid-morning deserves an earlier pickup than the plain figures suggest.

A family checking out of a hotel with pools and an aquapark usually leaves with more than it brought: inflatables, damp swimwear in a separate bag, a pushchair that travelled folded and now does not. • While one adult settles up at reception, the other can wait at the entrance with the bags, so loading starts the moment the car pulls in.
