The departure starts by unwinding the hotel quarter. The car runs back north along Sakıp Sabancı Caddesi for the two kilometres to the Göynük junction, past gates where coaches are often loading at the same early hours, and only then turns onto the D400. From there the road north is the coast route in reverse: the length of Beldibi, the tunnels under the cliffs, then Konyaaltı and Antalya's ring road to the terminal. Taken together it is 53 km and about 50 minutes, and the town end, not the coast, is where weekday traffic gathers.

In the dark, the old names on this coast are the trap. A driver following a voucher that simply says Amara, Göynük may well end up at the junction, where the former Amara Luxury now trades as FashionTV Luxe Resort, two kilometres short of you. The booking should therefore carry the current full name and the address, Ahu Ünal Aysal Caddesi 33, and that is where the private car will come for your party. Being in the lobby with the cases a few minutes early keeps the stop short in a street lined with other hotels' coaches.

• Fix the pickup time when you book, counting back from the flight: 50 minutes of road plus the check-in time your airline asks for.
• Tell us in advance if the number of cases or passengers has changed, so that a car of the right size is sent.
• If you would like a last swim, leave the cases at reception after check-out and keep swimwear in a separate bag for the car.
