The departure begins at number 13 on Fatih Caddesi, a residential street where the car pulls up at the hour you agreed when booking, and the first task is getting across Alanya again. Because there is no bypass, every journey west from Oba goes through the town on the D400, past the centre and out along the western beaches. For an early flight with a pickup in the dark, that crossing is a matter of minutes; for a pickup in the late morning, lights, buses and shoppers' traffic can make it the slowest few kilometres of the trip. Plan with the 110 minutes and add a margin when the car leaves in the day.

Check the airport on your return ticket as well as the time. A charter that brought you into Antalya may send you home from Gazipaşa, or the other way round, and the two point in opposite directions from Oba: Antalya is 131 km west, through the town, while Gazipaşa lies east, without any crossing of Alanya at all. A booking made for the wrong airport is the one mistake a driver cannot fix at the kerb, so read the airport code on the ticket and give it with the flight number when you arrange the car.
