Departure starts in a side street, not on a forecourt: the car pulls up at the hotel's own entrance on 513 Sokak rather than out on the boulevard. Once it has rejoined Atatürk Bulvarı, the run north to the D400 junction at the top of town is brief, because this hotel stands at the northern end of Kemer rather than down by the marina.

From that junction the 60 km back to the terminal follow the coast road through Göynük, Beldibi and the tunnels, then the Konyaaltı front and the ring road, and with traffic moving freely the 55 minutes hold. The tunnels rarely delay anyone; the variable is Antalya itself, where commuters fill the roads from about seven and summer changeover days add a stream of coaches. The pickup time is therefore set at booking from your flight and the time of day, which leaves only one task for the morning: being in the lobby with passports ready.

• Settle the room bill the evening before, since the reception desk is busiest exactly when the early pickups are due.
• A last swim means a shuttle ride each way to a beach about 1,100 metres off, so check when the shuttle returns before you go down.
• Wait in the lobby rather than at the corner of the boulevard: the driver comes into 513 Sokak and stops at the hotel door.
