Leaving, the run is the arrival in reverse: west along the coast road past the long row of Lara hotels, then north to the terminal, with no stretch of city traffic to cross. The 17 km take about 25 minutes. What can slow it is the hotel strip itself on a busy changeover morning, when coaches and taxis turn in and out of one drive after another; the open road north to the airport rarely holds anyone up. • The price is fixed per vehicle at booking, so a slow crawl along the hotel strip adds minutes to the journey and nothing to the fare.
• If the room has to be given up long before an evening flight, decide at booking whether the car should collect you at the hotel entrance or at the mall across the road, because the driver goes to the address on the booking.
