Leaving Okurcalar for the terminal is a straightforward westbound drive: the car turns out of the gate on to the D400, passes Kızılot and Manavgat, then crosses the Serik and Aksu plain. Allow 80 minutes for the 91 km in ordinary traffic. Because the hotel sits on the highway, the car does not need to work its way out of a resort lane, and the clock starts properly the moment the boot is shut.

What slows a departure from this part of the coast is the coach traffic, not the distance. On busy summer mornings, tour buses collecting guests from the hotels along the highway stop at gate after gate, and around the Manavgat junctions the queues can add a few minutes. A pickup booked before the main coach rounds avoids most of it. Agree the hour when you book, using your flight time and the check-in window your airline sets.

• A swim off the pier on the last morning needs time for a shower and repacking wet things, so set the pickup to suit that rather than the latest possible minute.
• Ask reception whether luggage can be held after checkout if your flight is late; the car will come at the hour you fixed when booking.
