On the last morning the car climbs out of the peninsula's lanes to the D400. Coming up on the sea side, it joins the carriageway pointing east, away from Antalya, and has to come round at the next turning before it heads west over the Fuğla bridge; those few minutes belong inside the pickup time. After that it is the arrival route in reverse, through Avsallar, İncekum and Okurcalar and on to Manavgat, where the highway runs through the town itself and gathers most of its daytime traffic.

Count the pickup back from the flight: 90 minutes for the 105 km, then the terminal time your airline asks for, then a margin in July and August for the crawl through Manavgat. An early flight can mean leaving before the restaurant opens, so ask reception the evening before what they can arrange. • Look at the airport code on the ticket: GZP means Gazipaşa, east beyond Alanya, which is a different journey from AYT and needs its own booking.
• Child seats are fitted before the car sets out for the hotel, so ask for them again on the departure booking even if you had them on arrival.
• A four o'clock start or a mid-afternoon one costs the same, since the price was fixed per car when you booked; the hour only changes how busy Manavgat is.
