The departure starts in the side street, turns onto Lara Caddesi and soon leaves it again for the boulevard heading north, so the busiest part of the coast road is only a short stretch of the trip. That counts in the late morning, when the strip is at its slowest and a car that had to run along it would lose time at every pedestrian crossing. End to end, the way back is the same 13 km and around 20 minutes, and outside the evening rush it seldom runs over.

Because the hotel is so near the beach, the last day often has a swim in it, and the transfer can be fitted around that. When check-out comes well before an evening flight, one option is to ask reception to hold the cases, spend the afternoon on Lara Beach and walk back to collect them. Agree the pickup at the hotel door rather than on the sand, and allow a quarter of an hour to collect the luggage before the car pulls in.
