Your last morning starts at the bottom of the lane. The car comes down Nergiz Sokak to the entrance at the end of the lane, and leaving means climbing the same lane back up past the sister hotel to the D400, which takes only a couple of minutes. From the highway the run is west through Türkler, Avsallar, Okurcalar, Manavgat and Serik, and the 114 km to the terminal normally take about 95 minutes.

With the beach only a short walk through the grounds, it is tempting to swim right up to the pickup time. Leave yourself enough to rinse off the salt, get sand out of the shoes and bring the bags to reception before the agreed hour, because the driver arrives at the time set when you booked. A pickup hour set with a little slack costs nothing on the road and takes the rush out of that final swim.

• Say "Caretta Beach, Nergiz Sokak 5" in the departure booking as well; the sister hotel's two blocks sit on the same lane, and a car waiting at the wrong door wastes the margin you planned.
• If your ticket shows GZP rather than AYT, the flight leaves from Gazipaşa, east beyond Alanya, and the car has to head the opposite way, so mention it when booking.
• Damp swimwear packed at the last minute ends up on top of the documents; a separate bag by the door keeps passports and boarding passes dry and easy to reach.
