Large grounds mean the last walk to the car can be a long one. The car comes to the entrance on the boulevard, while the beach and the pier, where many guests spend the final morning, are at the far end of the gardens. Fit that walk, the shower and the checkout into the morning, and be at the entrance with the luggage at the agreed time rather than leaving the sunbeds as the car pulls up. Because Baia is on the sea side of a divided road, the car's first job on the way out is to get across to the westbound lanes, normally by going round the nearest roundabout. From Güzeloba the road heads inland through Altıntaş to the terminal, and the 17 km usually come to about 25 minutes.

• Check that the pickup reads Baia Lara: Liberty Hotels Lara is next door, and on a divided boulevard a car that turns into the wrong entrance has to go round before it can reach the right one.
• You pay for the car, not the clock: the price per vehicle is agreed when you book, so a slow boulevard on a changeover morning costs minutes and nothing more.
• For a pre-dawn departure, settle the bill the evening before, so that the morning holds nothing but the walk to the car.
