On departure day the road through the middle of the resort is what to plan around. The car collects you at the main building on the inland side, while a last morning at the beach or in Wet'n Wild is spent across the boulevard, with the walk or the shuttle ride back still to come. Leave time for it: be showered, packed and at the entrance at the pickup time, not just leaving the sunbed then. Guests in the annex, about 80 metres away, also have their cases to bring over, which is easier before the checkout rush than in the middle of it.

The way back is the arrival in reverse: west along the boulevard through Kemerağzı and the rest of Lara, then inland at Güzeloba and north through Altıntaş to the terminal. The hotel strip is where the time varies. Before dawn the road is almost empty; on a changeover morning coaches stop at one resort gate after another and the roundabouts fill up. On an ordinary day the 18 km take about 25 minutes, and the pickup should be set from the time your airline closes check-in, not from the departure time on the ticket.

• If your party is split between the main building and the annex, make the main entrance the single meeting point, so nobody waits at the wrong door.
• Flights get rescheduled; if yours is, send the new departure time straight away, because the car is booked to a set hour and keeps to it until you change it.
• A stop at a shopping centre on the boulevard, such as Antalium Premium Mall, can be added to the return, provided it is on the booking and the pickup is early enough to cover it.
