Departure is simpler here than arrival. The hotel lets out onto the northbound carriageway, which already points towards the airport, so the car turns right out of the gate and within a few hundred metres reaches the junction where Atatürk Bulvarı joins the D400. No turning back, no crossing the avenue. After that it is the coast road north under the mountains, past Göynük and Beldibi, along Konyaaltı and round the western side of the city to the terminals, the same 59 km you came in on.

Most of the variation in timing on the way out comes from the Antalya end. On weekday mornings the boulevard into the city and the ring road can be slow, and on summer changeover days coaches carrying hotel guests to the airport add to the flow. For a dawn flight the coast road is almost empty and the 55 minutes is realistic; for a midday departure in high season it is wise to allow more. • Bring the bags to the lobby before the agreed time; the car stops at the entrance on the boulevard and loads there.
• A swim on the last morning is easy, since the sea is just behind the hotel, but leave time for a shower and packing wet things.
• Larger families can book a minibus so everyone and all luggage leave Armas Beach in one vehicle.
