Heading home, the car is on the D400 from the first metre and turns west, which puts Alanya near the start of the journey rather than at its end. In the small hours the town crossing goes quickly; later in the day its junctions and lights set the pace for a while, and a midday departure should keep some slack for that. Beyond Konaklı the coast highway runs on to Manavgat and across the plain to the terminal: 142 km in total and about 115 minutes in normal traffic.

Because the hotel fronts the main road, the car collects you at the entrance by the highway. A last swim means walking back through the underpass with wet towels, so leave the beach early enough to shower and close the cases before the agreed time. If your party is split between Klas and First Class, choose one meeting point when you book rather than two stops on the same plot.

• Keep passports and boarding passes in a small bag on your lap rather than in the suitcases; the run to Antalya is a long one.
• Give the number of suitcases as well as passengers, because a family going home after a week by the sea usually carries more than it brought.
