On the way out, the car climbs back from the shore through Kumköy to the D400 and turns west for the 63 km to the terminal, about 55 minutes once the highway is flowing. The slow part is rarely the highway itself; it is the resort streets in high season, when hotel shuttles and taxis bunch up at the junctions. A pickup in the early hours slips through them easily, while a midday one in August can lose several minutes before it reaches the dual carriageway. Work the pickup back from your airline's check-in deadline rather than from the departure time.

With the sand right below the hotel, the last hours tend to be spent on the beach. Hand back the room and bring the bags to reception before the agreed time, and keep a dry change of clothes in the cabin bag rather than buried in a suitcase. The car comes to the main entrance on the street side, and the driver asks for the name on the booking. Give the full hotel name when you arrange the departure, because several Seaden properties share this short piece of coast.

• Child seats used on arrival are needed again for the airport run; mention them in the return booking too, since each leg is arranged as its own trip.
