Going back to the airport, the short climb from the hotel row past the village brings the car up to the D400, and from there it heads west: the Manavgat river crossing and the town's southern edge come first, then the long run past the Side junction, Serik and the Belek turnings. Early in the morning the Manavgat stretch is the one place where lights hold the car; later in the day it carries the town's own traffic on top of the coast's. Plan with 70 minutes for the 81 km, plus a margin on summer Saturdays.

With the sand directly in front of the hotel, the pull on the last morning is one more swim. Leave enough time to come back up, shower and bring the luggage to the lobby before the agreed hour, since the car waits at the main entrance on the village side. Wet swimwear travels better in a separate bag than wrapped in clothes. If members of the group fly home on different flights, book separate pickups rather than asking one car to wait for the later departure.

• Agree the pickup time when booking: start from the departure, subtract your airline's check-in window and then the 70-minute drive.
• Repeat the street address, Meydan Alanı Sokak No 56, in the return booking; in the dark the hotel entrances along Kızılağaç's shore look much alike from the road.
• Because the fare per vehicle is settled when you book, a queue at the Manavgat river bridge affects only the clock.
