Grida's position beside the town makes the departure easy in one way and slower in another. Before dawn the streets of central Belek are empty, the car climbs the town road back to the D400 in no time, and the 34 km to the terminal go at night pace. Later in the morning those same streets carry delivery vans, shoppers and tour coaches threading their way to the hotels further out, and the slow part of the journey is the first kilometre or two rather than the highway.

The refurbished hotel has its own check-out routine, and the car does not run on it: the hour agreed at booking is when the driver pulls up at the entrance. Before an early flight, settle the bill the evening before, ask reception where cars stop for loading since the renovation, and keep passports out of the suitcases. Counting back from the flight, allow the 35 minutes of road plus the time your airline wants at the terminal, and in high summer a few minutes more for the town streets at the start.
